A tabletop town that coordinates a main road, two side streets, a pedestrian crossing, a servo barrier, and lamps that respond to the room.
The model was drawn in CAD, simulated as a circuit, then printed and wired so the signals, the gate, and the lamps run together on one Arduino.
Button, infrared detector, and light sensor
Phase timing and output control
Signal LEDs, barrier servo, and street lamps
The finished intersection running: signals, the pedestrian crossing, the barrier, and the street lamps.
This recording shows the completed model in operation, with the Arduino driving the signals, the crossing, the gate, and the lamps.
The controller used in the TinkerCAD schematic and in the finished intersection.
Printed housings with red, yellow, and green channels for vehicles and a separate pedestrian signal.
A hobby servo in each gate housing lifts and lowers the yellow arms across the road.
Pedestrian button, infrared photo-diode near the gate, and a light sensor for the street lamps.
The printed town, the CAD assembly, and the circuit that drives it.
A pass over the completed model: roads, crosswalk, signal poles, barrier, house, and street lamp, built from the CAD assembly and wired to run.
Signals lit, barrier raised, house and palms in place on the printed base.
Roads, crosswalk, parking court, and the barrier across the lane.
Vehicle signal, pedestrian housing, call button, and the barrier lowered.
The FreeCAD model of the intersection before it was printed.
Arduino Uno, signal groups, gate servo, and the three sensors.
Wiring the electronics beside the printer, supply, and oscilloscope.
71 photographs and drawings from this build.
